Tom Guthrie appointed ACCA Chair for Bedford Luton Northampton Panel
19 July 2018: The Milton Keynes office is delighted to announce that Tom Guthrie, Associate and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, has been appointed the new Chair for Bedford, Luton and Northampton ACCA panel.
The ACCA is a global network of professionals who are a key part of shaping the future of the accountancy profession. In the fast paced and ever changing environment in which businesses are increasingly having to operate, it is imperative that the accountancy industry is working together to stay ahead of economic challenges.
Tom is a qualified accountant, having passed his ACCA exams 10 years ago. Over the years, he noticed that there were a number of disengaged members, including himself, and set out to change that. He became an active member of the Panel in August 2016 and was elected Chair in June 2018. During his time on the panel, he has helped to bring ideas for local ACCA network events and acted as the “eyes and ears” of ACCA on emerging local issues. A decade after qualification, Tom is able to bring his knowledge and experience, including his insolvency expertise, to give something back to a profession that propelled his own career.
As Chair, his vision for the future of the panel is simply to increase local member engagement and explain the additional benefits of being associated with ACCA, which working in either industry, public sector or practice.
We look forward to following Tom’s journey as Chair and seeing the exciting developments to come.
