With the BRI’s golf day just around the corner, Tom Guthrie appears to be hitting a bit of form just at the right time.
At the B.B.G.S golf day down at Mentmore Golf Course, Tom scored the best round of the day by accumulating 38 points and as a result he won the Society’s shield (pictured). The weather conditions were pretty miserable at times; with rain, blustery winds and even hail. For our Welshman, who is not averse to a bit rain, it made no impact on his game, as he picked up 23 points after just 8 holes. However, Tom recognises that he was fortunate to be playing with Nick Roberts, a local accountant and a member of the course, as his local knowledge helped him to recover some misfired drives.
We look forward to seeing some of our local professional contacts at Staverton Park Golf Club, where Tom hopes to lead his team to victory.
