14 May 2018: When the majority of the UK were enjoying its first taste of summer and firing up the BBQ over the May Day bank holiday weekend, our very own Jean Armstrong, an assistant insolvency manager at BRI, participated in this year’s Milton Keynes half-marathon.
Amongst other things, Jean enjoys running in what little personal time we allow her, but this was the first time she had run this distance. Unfortunately for Jean, she didn’t check the long range weather forecast when originally deciding to enter the race. With it being one of the hottest May Day bank holiday weekends on record, the sunny conditions were far from ideal for the 3,000 athletes that entered the race.
With the help of her running partner, Liz Newell of Keen Shay Keens MK, and the support of the public on the side of the roads who were armed with super soakers and hose pipes, she completed the course.
Congratulations to Jean and Liz.
