6 April 2017: BRI recently enjoyed the company of over 30 professionals from in and around Northampton for a breakfast meeting, which included a presentation from the Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity.
You could have heard a pin drop while Amanda Taylor, end of life care practice development team leader, was informing the audience about the work that she and her team do both in the Hospice and out in the community. We are sure that everyone has, at some time, been touched by the work of either the Cynthia Spencer Hospice or a similar charity. Putting the work into a slide show and describing what are obviously life changing events for the families affected was very moving and there will never be enough capacity available to service every need.
Victoria New, the Hospice’s Marketing Manager, explained the many and various ways they try to raise money – including the upcoming Colour Run (to be held on Saturday 6th May - visit www.cynthiaspencer.org.uk or e mail email@example.com #getmessy4cynthia).
The stories were moving, the need is apparent. In our 35th year of undertaking insolvency work in Northampton, BRI presented the Hospice with a cheque for £500, enough to fund only 4 hours of one days good work – hopefully our efforts to spread the word will help a little too. We wish them every success in the very worthy work they undertake.
