4 June 2018: On Friday 1 June 2018, Ian Cooke from BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency’s Northampton office came across a chap in a local supermarket who he had made redundant some 6-7 years ago as part of his role when dealing with an insolvent company.
He shook Ian’s hand and Ian had a nice chat with him, his wife and child. His comments “the best thing that could have happened to me, received my redundancy, retrained and am now a bricklayer - earning three times what I was. You dealt with a difficult situation in a very decent way – thanks.”
Inevitably, when BRI act as liquidators in an insolvent liquidation, redundancies occur and it is never a pleasant task. However, the above is a great end to a difficult circumstance and it is how you treat people that matters.
