The one that didn’t get away!
2 March 2016: Adam King, of our Northampton office, hooked more than the usual dirty old boot on his latest fishing trip to a local river in the shape of an 18lbs 4oz Barbel.
The Barbel is one of the biggest caught in this country and is a new river record, beating the previous best of 17lbs 10oz.
Barbel are well known for their strong fighting capabilities and this fish was no different as it proceeded to tear across the river with Adam holding on for dear life. Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, the fish waved the white flag and was scooped up in Adam’s eagerly awaiting net.
After being caught and landed, photos were quickly taken and the fish was safely returned to its watery home.
