What a difference 10 years makes!
Coventry’s leading insolvency and business recovery specialist, BRI will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on 1st April this year.
As Lee Jones says, “It’s incredible to think that 10 years have passed since BRI opened its doors for business in the city centre. The office was BRI’s fourth in the Midlands area and the city’s first firm of dedicated insolvency and recovery specialists. Whilst we knew that Coventry was a fast moving, vibrant city, we could never have predicted the pace of change and number of new developments which have occurred over the last decade.”
“In common with the rest of the country, Coventry has had its ups and downs over the last 10 years, largely as a result of the changing economic climate. But there have been a significant number of developments in and around the city during this period – the refurbishment of the Transport Museum, the multi award-winning Phoenix Initiative, the Ricoh Arena, Ikea’s first city centre UK store and the more recent redesign of the city centre culminating in the city being awarded Olympic host status for the 2012 games. All examples of a city whose fortunes are on the up.”
BRI in Coventry – how can we help?
Lee says, “During the last 10 years, we at BRI have been delighted to help numerous local businesses and individuals experiencing financial difficulty. We continue to pride ourselves on offering the best advice and support to businesses of all sizes to help resolve cashflow and other financial problems, regardless of the fee outcome.”
“We offer a range of services to directors, business owners and managers, professional advisers, creditors and other stakeholders and individuals with personal debt issues. As professionals with many years experience it’s our job to provide a clear picture of the options available in a wide variety of scenarios but here are the most common situations we are asked to help with:
- Saving a business;
- Relieving pressure from creditors;
- Advising on personal risks to directors;
- The orderly winding-down and closure of a business;
- Distributing surplus funds in a tax efficient way to shareholders;
- Understanding and explaining the insolvency process;
- Advising and representing creditors’ interests;
- Pursuing a debt;
- Advising on limiting liability.
As Lee continues, “At BRI we relish the challenge of solving problems and providing a sensible and sensitive solution for people who very often don’t know where to turn. Certainly for myself and my colleagues within BRI, our ethos strongly reflects that we want to help people. Of course it is important to be technically correct when using an insolvency process, but I think that sometimes insolvency and recovery professionals lose sight of the fact that they are there to help people!”
“There have been occasions where I know that my input has meant that someone can sleep better at night and those with money at risk have achieved a better recovery. We have some very good feedback from the business and professional advisers who refer their clients to us and they speak very highly about what we have achieved on their behalf. That makes me very proud and we at the BRI Coventry office are looking forward to the next 10 years with more of the same!
